Principal's Letter

We are very pleased to have returned to the school building to once again commence in-person learning. I’ve had the privilege of being a part of the St. Matthias Catholic Academy family since 2010. I've taught religion and math to the students of grades 7 & 8 here at St. Matthias Catholic Academy. We continue the tradition of a strong academic foundation that students have been given here at St. Matthias Catholic Academy even during these difficult times. Through both synchronous and asynchronous instruction students continue to make strides towards their academic goals.

The students are so excited to be back in the building and are thriving. We have a strong sense of faith and community through our religious prayer services, attendance at Mass and weekly visits by the Bishop. The faculty and staff have worked tirelessly throughout the summer to make this a reality.

The school has undergone a thorough cleaning and is being fogged daily to ensure a safe environment for all students, faculty and staff. We are taking daily precautions (daily COVID-19 screenings and temperature checks) to make St. Matthias Catholic Academy the safest environment it can be. We have established new protocols for entering and exiting the building as well as adjusting our school day to help safeguard our learning environment. With your cooperation and through the intercession of our Blessed Mother, Mary we can all make 2020 – 2021 a healthy and successful school year for all.
