Service is a key component of the mission of St. Matthias Catholic Academy.
Sister Marie Anna Moltz, SSND, turned 100 this past December. She is a graduate of St. Matthias School and served as principal from 1969 to 1970. Sr. Marie Anna had a long, successful career in education spanning 55 years. Students in New York, New Jersey, and Vermont benefitted from Sister's ministry. She even taught graduate classes at Seton Hall University. Sr. Marie Anna currently resides with her SSND Community at The Watermark in Bridgeport, CT.
The students at SMCA couldn't let Sister's milestone birthday pass without special recognition from her St. Matthias Family. More than 100 birthday cards were crafted and sent to Sr. Marie Anna congratulating her on her 100 years and thanking her for her ministry.
Sr. Marie Anna has shared her cards with the other Sisters including our own Sisters from St. Matthias:Sr. Katharine, Sr. Bernadette, Sr. Eileen, and Sr. Shawn. God bless all of our Sisters.
Children are learning to follow the words of Saint (Mother)Teresa of Calcutta, "Do small things with great love." Whether they are sending greeting cards, creating prayer chains, donating food to local pantries, or raising funds for the Missions, the American Cancer Society, or The Wounded Warrior Project; they are living the Gospel message of caring for others.
Thank you for reaching out to Sr. Marie Anna on her 100th birthday! S. Madeline Keller, SSND
